OMA Roof and Fall Protection Upgrade

Questions and Responses
1. Is the architect recommending that we tear out the light weight concrete under the roofing on the 6th Floor? (3A on Page 8) FAA Response: No
1. What is the elevation of the CAB roof?
FAA Response: Ground elevation shown at 976’ ’MSL. Cab Roof elevation shown at 1064’ MSL, Top of Structure w/ antennas approximately 1076’ MSL
1. Is the insulation to be fastened down or adhered down? Or will either work?
FAA Response: The design calls for a fully-adhered system along with the warranty and other requirements.
1. I noticed pavers in the picture on page 13 of the plans, Who removes pavers and are they to be reinstalled?
FAA Response: Patrick J. Response: No known existing concrete pavers. Contract does include the removal and installation of walkpads to match the existing configuration.
1. There are places on the plans and specs where 80 Mil TPO is called out. I assume these are misprints. Page 6 on the plans and page 2 on the specifications.
FAA Response: Roof replacement does not include TPO.
1. Due to the ongoing fluctuations and market uncertainty and to limit potential windfalls and disasters (ref. Administration of Government Contracts by Cibnic, Nash & Nagle a part of the George Washington University Library as to our logic behind this clause – “They will have no windfalls and no disasters. The Government benefits from more accurate bidding, without inflation for risks which may not eventuate.”) we are requesting that this contract be subject to AMS Clause 3.2.4-4. This will allow the proposals to not include potential material escalation factors which change daily and can be in excess of 30-40% or more of the materials pricing at times. Contractors will be able to provide an accurate proposal knowing that should factors outside of our control (i.e. material cost increases) impact the project the contracting team will allow for adequate compensatory amounts to account for the cost impacts. Please confirm if these clauses will be included with the subsequent award of this proposal or if we should factor in these discretionary multipliers to absorb the potential risk.
FAA Response: The FAA will not be adding clause 3.2.4-4 into this solicitation. All proposed prices should reflect current bid prices and the ability to provide documentation if requested.
1. Will Carlisle EPDM Roof System be considered an acceptable alternate?
