Question 1:
Prior to the start of construction, the Contractor shall review the Lead Based Paint (LBP) inspection report and take the appropriate action. The contractor shall develop a plan and dispose or abate, as necessary, any LBP identified in the report following federal, state, or local regulations.
Follow OSHA regulation 29CFR1926.62. If the TCLP result of the waste load is below 5.0 mg/L, than the waste load may be considered general construction debris (assuming no other hazards exist).
Questions/Answers: Since the lead content is below 5.0 mg/L as stated above form the testing Engineers I am assumed that I can just dispose of it ( Plywood Sheeting on the inside walls) as it is stated above. Need an answer.
Answer 1:
Correct statement, but General Waste shall be taken to a facility that will accept LBP with General Waste given the TCLP results. It has been our experience that not all disposal sites will except small amounts of LBP.
