The scope of work is to replace the existing 120 foot guyed antenna tower with a new free standing antenna tower of the same height at a new location near the existing tower, replace the RF heliax cables from the tower to the new fiberglass junction box to be installed on the North wall of the existing equipment shelter, counterpoise around the tower and related work as specified and indicated by the drawings and/or specifications, which are part of this contract.

After the contractor installs the new antenna tower foundation, assembles and erects the tower and installs the heliax cables, FAA will then install new cables and antennas on the top of the tower, and cables from the junction box into the equipment shelter to the equipment racks. After the connectors are installed on each cable, the cables are installed to each rack/radio, and all testing has been completed, FAA will allow the contractor to remove and demolish the old guyed tower.

The contractor must expect the FAA to take up to three weeks to complete the electronic installation from the time that the antenna tower is made available to the FAA until the time that the contractor can start demolition.

The contractor must remove the old steel tower down to the existing foundation and everything will be cut flush to the top face of the foundation. The old foundation will not have to be removed. The guy wires, guy wire foundations, conduits and cabling must be removed 12 inches below grade.

The contractor in conjunction with the FAA will execute the earth ground resistance test to re-baseline the site grounding once all earth-work is complete.
