QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

11/16/2022

NUMBER 1

1. Are you needing a Manually Operated or Electrically Operated breaker?

a. If you need an electrically operated breaker, what is the control voltage needed?

The old Westinghouse breakers are manually “push button” operated, but operating springs are electrically charged up.

2. Is this breaker bolted in or is it draw out?

The Westinghouse breaker is draw out.

3. Does this breaker have any accessories? (bell alarm, shunt trip, aux switch, etc.)

a. If so what are the voltages needed on the accessories?

It has a shunt, 24/28 VDC.

4. What trip functions are you needing on the programmer? Do you have a preference of programmer?

Undervoltage and over load to start with. We have no programmer preference, although GE would be sufficient.

We also want to prevent losing a leg or phase. We’ve had problems with these old breakers losing a phase leg and not tripping.

5. How soon do you need to get the breaker delivered?

We are aiming for January 2023.
