Questions and Responses Solicitation 69727622Q000008

1. Question:

WI #104. This SOW is written to replace all gauges that do not function properly: to be fair to the government should we price to have all gauges calibrated and then submit a CFR for any faulty gauges found, and request additional funding then? Doing it the other way is possible, but it creates a large gap of money that may or may not be used.

Response:

1.1 Test and calibrate all four (4) SSDG Local Gauges to ensure proper operation and replace with new all gauges that do not function properly. All gauges to be replaced should be equal to or better than CATERPILLAR original gauges and associated hoses showing wear, or damage from gauge removal of equal to or better than caterpillar original hoses.

2. Question:

WI# 105. No information was provided on what type of flooring should be provided. We did bring a flooring installer aboard the vessel, and he is working on options for the flooring, is there a type of flooring that is preferred?

Response:

A commercial grade flooring with a non‐skid texture throughout the galley and both mess rooms. A sample prior to install is preferred.

3. Question:

WI# 106. The sub is asking for the following from MARAD: would MARAD like to include an optional wireless LMI system with the remote and whether they should prince to include an update the Technical Manual and original Custom Bill for this crane or not.

Response:

Yes, a remote for the crane, a wireless system and a tech manual. The remote would have to be accomplished within the performance period. If not able to meet the performance deadline you must state so or offer something that you can meet.

4. Question:

Current lead times for the remote is currently 52‐60 weeks from receipt of funds. How would we handle this?

Response:

To minimize lead times as much as possible, the remote shall be ordered upon award of the contract. The contract will remain active until the remote has been received by the vessel.

5. Question:

Also 1.0 abstract: needs correction for proper quoting purposes.

Response:

The SOW has been revised to correct the abstract paragraph for Item 106 – Retrofit Stores Crane with Remote Controller.
