The following report details the conditions found on the Low Pressure Turbine Casing. Also included are the recommended repairs required to ensure the integrity of the subject Low Pressure Turbine is maintained.

I. Conditions Found.

A. Turbine Casing.

1. The internal casing has five casing supports per half extending between the components of inlet section that appear to have multiple linear indications that are completely through the strut.

a) The lower casing port side strut has been cut out completely and the bottom and two struts on the starboard side appear to be cracked through.

b) The upper casing starboard side strut adjacent to the joint also appears to be cracked completely through.

(1) The access to the inlet chamber in the casings current position makes inspection difficult but it appears that the other four support struts in the upper casing are intact.

c) Documentation has been found that indications were noted during a previous inspection conducted in 2002.

II. Recommended Repairs.

A. Turbine Casing.

1. The work scopes required to weld repair the struts are quite extensive and would likely delay the ships scheduled activities. In as much as it is evident that the ship has been operating with these damaged struts for the last fifteen years, It is this writers opinion that the repairs be postponed until the vessels scheduled dry docking in 2017.
