General Technical Question Answer Date

X

We are attempting to try and bid this project but this is the first time we have seen a seed spec with SLRY. We have asked several seed suppliers and it doesn’t appear there is a clear understanding of what SLRY is refereeing to.

We had one mention “slurry Unit” which implies mass as a proportion of volume. But that doesn’t tell us what the application rate is.

We have seen measurements such as .5 lbs/pls and .5 ac/pls but not once have we seen SLRY.

Could we please get clarification of what this is referring to and what application rate is expected

Application rates for Turf Establishment are shown under Section 625 of the Special Contract Requirements; and FP‐14 Subsection 109.02(n), which also provides additional information on Slurry Unit. See FP‐14 Subsection 109.02(n) for information on Slurry Unit.

What is the size of a “Unit” when it comes to the mulch?

Generally, the benchmark rate for mulch application is 2,000lbs per acre. Is this the quantity we should be going off of?

Payment for mulch is by the SLRY unit under Pay Item 62503‐0000 for Turf Establishment. See Subsection 625.08; and FP‐14 Subsection 109.02(n).

X What area does the slurry unit coverage need to cover? If you spread it thinly it covers more, but if you expect it to be thicker it will cover less.

In accordance with the bid schedule and Subsection 109.02(n), 26 slurry units covers

6.5 acres.

Our company is currently putting together a bid for Project West Milner Road, 700W to 1100W.

I am reaching out to you due to our SAM’s and our DUNS registrations. We are in the process of changing our company from a C Corp to an S Corp. Both the S Corp and the C Corp are completely qualified, licensed and insured. The C Corp is keeping our Federal EIN number and all of our registrations and in the process of changing the name from Kloepfer Inc. to Canyon Valley Concrete. The S Corp will take the name of Kloepfer Inc. and is in the process of obtaining new registrations. I am writing because we will have to do the bid under our C Corp. However; the name change is in process and not completed. Is this a problem. If so can you advise on how to move forward?

See FAR Subpart 42.12 regarding change‐of‐ name agreements.
