Snoqualmie Repairs 2016

# General Technical Question Answer Date

1 X

There is no erosion control plan shown for FSR57‐23.03 while the other locations with water are clearly shown. Are we expected to come up with our own plan for this location or will one be provided as they were for the other sites?

This will be addressed in a forthcoming amendment.

I see on Sheet F.1 it appears that the root wad may protrude through the fabric at the back of the cut slope. Are we to cut the fabric to allow the root wad to go through or excavate out and place the fabric behind the root wad?

This will be addressed in a forthcoming amendment.

Also in the roadway recondition item it states to remove any material greater than 6" from the top 6" of sub grade. At site 5640 this seems to be a good amount of material excavated and removed to accomplish this specification. Is the material placed back paid for under the borrow item or is it incidental to the roadway recondition item and is there an anticipated quantity?

In accordance with Sections 204 and 209, the material placed back is to be paid for under the unclassified borrow pay item if suitable embankment material from roadway excavation and structure excavation is not available.

There is also an added section in the special contract requirements that talks about concrete headwalls and wingwalls section 104.03(b)(2) but I don't see anything in the plan set for such work, are there any such items and if so where do they go and what are the sizes needed?

No. 2/6/19
