About this file
This document is Addendum #1 for a federal contract opportunity to construct a new campus chiller plant in Marion, Illinois (Project Number 657A5-21-401). The addendum provides RFI responses, updated drawings, and specification modifications to the original solicitation.
The drawing modifications span multiple sheets and address site utilities, infrastructure alignments, and building systems. Key changes include: modifications to site demolition limits for chilled water lines on Sheet C210; addition of valve installation keynotes and stationing for 12-inch ductile iron chilled water lines on Sheet C500; creation of a new profile sheet (C502) showing vertical alignments for chilled water lines, storm drainage lines (8-inch and 12-inch), sanitary lines (6-inch), and water lines (4-inch/6-inch); updates to roofing specifications from standard to TPO systems on architectural sheets; modifications to exterior wall panel dimensions to meet minimum wythe thickness requirements; adjustments to drilled pier lengths and masonry anchor testing requirements; updates to lintel schedules, electric unit heater voltages, and water-cooled chiller efficiency data; and clarification of electrical connections and pole light catalog numbers.
The specification modifications address multiple divisions and require contractors to: incorporate Schedule of Special Inspections and Statement of Special Inspections documents; change precast concrete panel finishes to "As-Cast Surface Finish"; delete references to stainless steel metal wall panels and correct colors; apply spray-applied fireproofing only to structural steel within 2-hour rated rooms per UL standards; delete acoustic level requirements for chillers; delete sound testing requirements for HVAC systems; modify seismic and wind load requirements for cooling towers; specify ECMs with N-1 redundancy for air-handling unit fan motors; and delete references to unused foundation systems and caisson load testing requirements.
