About this file
This is a Work Write-Up document prepared by the City of Jackson Community Development Department for repairs to a qualified homeowner property located at 626 N East Avenue, Jackson, Michigan 49202. The scope of work includes four primary tasks: general foundation work involving removal and replacement of concrete along the north side of the home with crushed limestone; repair of foundation walls with mortar raking and masonry unit replacement covering approximately 100 square feet along the north wall and west wall; gutterwork consisting of furnish and installation of gutter and downspout replacements; and installation of new precast concrete steps with handrails on sound footers. The gutterwork component specifies approximately 220 linear feet of gutter across all elevations and approximately 80 linear feet of downspout. The specifications require materials to match existing conditions, with aluminum gutters meeting .027-inch minimum thickness and K-type 5-inch profile, proper pitch requirements of at least 1 inch in 16 feet, and hanger spacing not to exceed 48 inches on center for galvanized or 30 inches for aluminum. All work must comply with applicable code requirements and conform to specified general standards. The document was prepared on June 30, 2026, and requires signatures from both the property owner and contractor upon approval and agreement to the work and pricing.
The Work Write-Up serves as the formal scope of work document that becomes part of a construction contract upon mutual execution by the customer and contractor. The City of Jackson is seeking competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors with proper licensing, required permits, and SAM.gov registration to perform the work. The project is awarded to the qualified lowest bidder. No specific response dates, due dates, site visit requirements, or bidder conferences are detailed in this document. Pricing terms, funding sources, and contract term information are not included in this work write-up; these details would be addressed in the associated bid solicitation and resulting construction contract.
