About this file

This is a minimum insurance requirements document for a Texas special education supplies, equipment, and related items contract opportunity. The document outlines mandatory insurance coverage that bidders and contractors must maintain throughout the contract term. Required coverage includes general liability insurance with minimum limits, workers' compensation insurance as mandated by Texas law, and any additional insurance types specified by the contracting agency. The document establishes the baseline protection standards necessary for contractors to participate in and execute the contract for providing special education supplies and equipment to the state.

The insurance requirements serve as a prerequisite qualification criterion for contract award and performance. Contractors must provide certificates of insurance evidencing the required coverage prior to contract execution and maintain continuous coverage throughout the contract period. The specific policy limits, coverage types, and additional insured requirements are established to protect the state and ensure contractor financial responsibility for potential claims, liabilities, or damages arising from contract performance. Failure to maintain the mandated insurance coverage may result in contract suspension, termination, or other remedial action by the contracting entity.
