About this file

This is a Heat Protection Safety Requirement Guidance document issued by the Harris County Flood Control District for the Channel Improvements for Pillot Gully project (Project ID: K140-00-00-X025) located in Texas. The document establishes mandatory safety requirements that all bidders and contractors must incorporate into their project safety plans to protect workers from weather-related hazards. The guidance requires provisions for worker protection during extreme heat, cold weather, and other adverse weather conditions throughout project execution. When temperatures or heat index values exceed 90 degrees, contractors must develop a project-specific Heat Awareness Plan that includes acclimatization measures, water supply, rest periods, and shade accommodations. During extended periods of adverse weather, the Prime Contractor must provide additional accommodations as necessary to ensure worker safety and welfare.

By submitting a bid and signing the Bid Acknowledgement, vendors explicitly agree to comply with all heat protection safety requirements outlined in the guidance. This mandatory requirement applies to all contractors bidding on the project and represents a non-negotiable component of the contract terms and conditions. There are no pricing terms, set-asides, or other financial considerations detailed in this safety requirement document, as it functions solely as a guidance and compliance document for worker protection protocols.
