About this file

This document is the Division 01 General Requirements specification for the King's Grant Pump Station Upgrades project by the Caln Township Municipal Authority in Pennsylvania. The project involves electrical equipment upgrades to an existing wastewater pump station and offsite rebuild of two KSB Model KRT F100-401 pumps (50HP, 3/60/460 VAC, 1800RPM, explosion proof rated) and one Muffin Monster Model 30005-0012-DI hydraulically driven grinder, followed by site restoration. Sealed bids are due electronically via PennBid by 10:00 A.M. local time on Thursday, April 24, 2026, with bid documents available at no cost beginning March 27, 2026. The specification sections establish the contractual framework for scheduling of values, applications for payment, submittals including construction progress schedules and product data, quality control procedures, temporary construction facilities, soil erosion and sediment control measures, and contract closeout requirements.

The contract requires each bid to be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check of not less than ten percent of the bid amount. The successful bidder must furnish performance and payment bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract amount and a maintenance bond equal to fifteen percent of the contract amount. The work is subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act (Act No. 442), and all equipment furnished must carry manufacturer guarantees of not less than twelve months from continuous operation or eighteen months from delivery, whichever occurs first. The contract includes lump sum and unit price payment options for various work items including mobilization/demobilization, demolition and site restoration, fence grounding, pump control panel installation, electrical equipment installation, lighting upgrades, and optional alternates for pump and grinder rebuilds or renewal. Payment applications are submitted monthly using EJCDC Form 1910-8-E, with the contractor responsible for all temporary utilities, water service, sanitary facilities, dust control, and progress cleaning throughout the project duration.
