About this file

This document is a set of 100% Construction Documents for a federal contract opportunity to improve the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service (PMRS) at the Eugene J. Towbin Healthcare Center in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

The project involves renovating approximately 16,000 square feet of existing space on the ground floor of the hospital occupied by the PMRS. The key objectives are to relocate the veteran waiting area to a more private and spacious area, increase private treatment space, relocate the veteran check-in area, renovate employee work areas, and improve patient and employee flow through the spaces. The work includes demolition, new partitions, lighting, finishes, ceilings, flooring, and accessible restroom reconfiguration. The project is divided into two phases, with a 30-day transition period between phases. Significant saw cutting and removal of the existing concrete floor slab is required. The contractor must use ground penetrating radar to verify utilities before saw cutting. The construction must comply with VA specifications, drawings, and all applicable codes, as well as infection control and safety requirements. There are 6 deductive alternates included.
