About this file
This is an Addendum 1 document issued by the California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS) on April 22, 2026, clarifying requirements for Request for Offer 5604364226 for Cloud Infrastructure Architects. The addendum extends the original offer due date from April 24, 2026 to May 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. PT and provides responses to ten written questions submitted by prospective vendors. The RFO was originally issued on April 9, 2026, and this addendum does not affect the final file date. Key clarifications include confirmation that CalSTRS uses the current version of Terraform, that public cloud platforms refer to standard commercial providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) used by State of California departments, and specifications regarding required candidate certifications and qualifications.
The addendum establishes firm requirements that cannot be waived or substituted with alternative qualifications. Candidates must possess one or more of the following certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect—Professional, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator. Equivalent hands-on experience, documented experience, or active pursuit of certification does not satisfy this minimum requirement, nor does demonstrated project experience substitute for the required ten-year experience threshold specified in Qualification #5. Additionally, experience in Docker and Kubernetes is required, though CalSTRS will accept any experience using automated enterprise tools for server patching, stability, and compliance beyond specifically Tanium. These clarifications indicate CalSTRS's commitment to maintaining strict qualification standards for the Cloud Infrastructure Architects position.
