About this file

This is an Emergency Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the Board of Supervisors of Marion County, Mississippi, seeking a qualified contractor for tornado debris removal and disposal services following tornado damage on March 15, 2025. The RFP requires sealed proposals to be submitted by 9:00 a.m. CDT on March 26, 2025, to the Board's office at 215 Broad Street in Columbia, Mississippi. Proposers must submit one original and four complete copies of their proposal, with strict instructions not to fax or email submissions. The Board plans to meet on the proposal submission date to review the received proposals and may elect to interview proposers.

The RFP emphasizes that all proposal preparation costs are solely the responsibility of the proposers, and the Board reserves multiple rights, including accepting or rejecting any proposal, waiving technicalities, and canceling the solicitation at any time prior to award approval. The contract award process allows the Board to select the most qualified proposer, with the ability to award to the next most qualified proposer if the initial selected contractor does not execute the contract within five days of approval. No specific budget or funding details are provided in the document, but the emergency nature of the RFP suggests an urgent need to address tornado-related debris removal to restore public services in Marion County.
