About this file
This is an addendum from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) for Solicitation #54-DM-16173 for Grain Straw Mulch. The solicitation opening date is February 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM ET, with this non-mandatory Addendum 1 issued on January 30, 2025. The contract is set to begin on April 1, 2025, following the expiration of the current contract on March 31, 2025. The solicitation requires delivery of grain straw mulch to two locations, with the vendor needing to supply trailers for storage at NCDOT facilities.
The addendum provides clarification through a Q&A format addressing delivery and storage requirements. Specifically, it confirms that the vendor must provide trailers for straw storage at both delivery locations, and these locations will have designated areas for trailer placement without the need for unloading and stacking. NCDOT will contact the vendor when straw deliveries are needed, rather than requiring a fixed delivery schedule. The procurement is being managed by Procurement Specialist Desmond McCleese.

Vendor Question State’s Response
1 4.6 Delivery Can you clarify what you mean about the Vendor must supply a trailer for storage?
Straw needs to be delivered in a trailer and stored at our facility for us to use as we need it.
2 How long do you have to complete delivery for both locations?
We will contact the vendor when straw is needed.
3 When do you want to get started?
The current contract expires 3/31/2025 so we will need the new contract to start 4/1/2025.
4 Will both locations have an area for a trailer to be dropped so the straw does not have to be unloaded and stacked?
Yes that is correct.
