About this file

This Architect/Engineer (A/E) Scope of Work details a project to pave the GSA parking lot and access road at the Boise, Idaho VA Medical Center (BVAMC), with a project budget between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The project involves paving an existing dirt parking lot, installing drainage infrastructure, and performing minor landscaping, with the goal of retaining/infiltrating drainage onsite and minimizing environmental impact.

The A/E is required to complete design work within 90 calendar days, including two official design reviews (at 50% and 95% completion), site investigations, and comprehensive documentation. Specific deliverables include AutoCAD and PDF drawings, construction cost estimates, VA master specification documents, and adherence to VA standards and criteria. The A/E must use both English and metric units, develop a submittal register, and provide final as-built drawings. Security requirements stipulate that the A/E will not have access to personally identifiable or patient-sensitive information, and they cannot access VA IT systems or connections.

During design, it will be determined to minimize impact, if existing site conditions could be used and minor earthwork could be accomplished to tie into existing parking lot with a surface drainage swale/borrow ditch, or use of other innovative design technique to mitigate current and future storm water. Existing parking lot wheel stops will be reused for separation between pavement parking lot and drainage swales. Add additional wheel stops as needed to protect remaining fencing and surrounding areas as needed.

3. All drawings shall be completed using AutoCAD 2024 or newer version. A copy of each drawing shall be provided to this facility in AutoCAD format and PDF format.
