About this file

This document is an Addendum to an Invitation for Bids (IFB) issued by the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction for the procurement of Gallon Jugs and Caps. The IFB, numbered 52-IFB-1269207372-WZM, has a bid opening date of October 8, 2024. This addendum provides responses to vendor questions, including information on past purchase quantities, whether this is a rebid, and whether the quantities are the same as the previous awarded bid. The addendum also addresses questions related to delivery methods and price adjustments. Sample images of the gallon jugs and caps are provided.

The pricing for this contract must be firm against any increase for one year from the effective date, per the Price Adjustments clause. The previous contract, 19-IFB-015386-WKM, had estimated quantities of 342,000 gallon jugs and 335,500 caps. This current IFB is a resolicitation, as the previous bid, 52-IFB-1166064246-ZMW, was cancelled.

QUESTIONS ANSWERS

May you please provide monthly or quarterly order quantities for past performance contract

19-IFB-015386-WKM.

• In the past year of contract 19-IFB-015386- WKM, gallon jugs were purchased 1-2 times per quarter with a quantity average of 22,800 per order. Caps for gallon jugs were purchases 2-3 times annually with a quantity average of 112,500 per order.

Is this a rebid from the previous solicitation for Gallon Jugs and Caps?

• Bid 52-IFB-1166064246-ZMW was cancelled, and Gallon Jugs and Caps are being resolicited in this current bid.

Are the quantities the same from the previous AWARDED bid? (Pretium Packaging won)

• In the previous bid, estimated quantities for gallon jugs were 342,000 each, and caps for jugs were 335,500 each.

Can the jugs be delivered in full truckloads in bags or on trays, and the cartons/separators separately, instead of the jugs being already prepacked 4 to a carton with the separators?

• The preferred method of delivery is stated in Section 5.1: Specifications. However, the jugs may be sent preferably, in larger boxes rather than bags or trays. Cartons and separators may be sent separately.

Due to the volatility in the price of resin, can the price of the jugs be firm for the first 6 months instead of 12, and be revised every 6 months thereafter?

• Per Section 6.6: Price Adjustments, prices must be firm against any increase for one (1) year from the effective date.

May you please provide an image of the jug and cap requested in the solicitation for reference.

• Please see below for sample images of the gallon jugs and caps.
