50012-658-27 Post-Event Custodial Services for Intercollegiate Athletics

Questions Received

1. Can you use a gas or battery operated blower to expedite trash cleanup in Thomas Assembly Center "Bleacher area"?

The Awarded Vendor is permitted to utilize battery operated blowers inside of the Thomas Assembly Center. The University will not provide these blowers to the Awarded Vendor. Gas operated blowers are not permitted for use inside of the Thomas Assembly Center. If the Awarded Vendor elects to utilize electric blowers, trash / debris is not allowed to be blown onto the court / playing surface area.

2. Windows inside and out are included 2 x's a year in bid (June / Dec) at Thomas Assembly Center or is there another time each year windows are to be scheduled?

The specifications listed in the bid for the twice per year cleaning of the windows at the Thomas Assembly Center are firm. There is not another time each year outside of the 2 times per year.

3. Windows on the 3rd floor only at DAC are to be cleaned inside and out after each home game?

Yes. Windows on the 3rd floor of the Davison Athletic Complex are to be cleaned both inside and outside after each home football game.

4. Insurance Requirements: Are Professional Liability (E&O) and Cyber Liability ($1M each) strictly required for this contract, or can these be waived? As these are non-standard for custodial work, we want to confirm if coverage is mandatory.

The University requires contractors to maintain a minimum of $1,000,000.00 in coverage for Commercial General Liability, Automobile Liability, and Workman’s Compensation coverages.

Professional Liability (Errors and Omissions) and Cyber Liability are not required to be carried / provided related to this solicitation.

5. DAC Window Cleaning Scope (3rd Floor Curtain Wall): The specifications require interior and exterior windows in seating areas to be cleaned after every event. Given the height of the 3rd-floor curtain wall at DAC, is spot-cleaning to hand height acceptable post-event, or is full lift/ladder cleaning required each time? Additionally, noting that the TAC concourse curtain walls only require full cleaning twice a year, would it make sense to adopt a similar semi-annual schedule for the full cleaning of the DAC curtain wall?

A lift or ladder is required each time. For the second part to the question, no we would like these to remain separate, not similar semi-annual schedule, due to the DAC having a large volume during football games and potential other events.

6. Trash Cart Availability/Storage (TAC): Are large utility trash carts provided/shared on-site with LA Tech, will space be allocated for us to store our own, or must they be transported to and from the facility for each service?

No, this will not be provided by the University. Vendors will need to bring each time, as this will not fit in the storage area provided to them.

7. Incumbent Information: Could you please share the name of the incumbent vendor and their current pricing structure for the six proposal rate items?

There are currently two vendors that are awarded, Jani King and Source One Facilities, under the previous bid which included five (5) items.

Jani King is awarded for the Thomas Assembly Center Large Events and Thomas Assembly Center Small Events. Source One Facilities is awarded the Davison Athletics Complex Inside/Outside, Davison Athletics Complex Large Event, Joe Aillet Stadium Press Box – Large Event.

Thomas Assembly Center – Large Event - $3,091.00 per event Thomas Assembly Center – Small Event - $1,641.00 per event Davison Athletics Complex – Inside/Outside - $900.00 per event Davison Athletics Complex – Large Event - $500.00 per event Joe Aillet Stadium Press Box – Large Event - $1,300.00 per event
