About this file

This document is Addendum No. 1 for a solicitation (SB#7671) issued by Northwestern State University's Business Affairs department in Natchitoches, Louisiana, for ductless fume hoods for the Chemistry Department. The bid is scheduled to open at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, and this addendum addresses a specific vendor inquiry regarding electrical installation requirements for the proposed equipment.

The addendum clarifies that the successful bidder will not be responsible for any electrical work beyond plugging the fume hood units into an existing standard 115v receptacle (NEMA 5-15). NSU explicitly states that no additional electrical modifications, new circuits, or receptacle installations are required for the installation of the fume hoods. The document emphasizes that failure to acknowledge this addendum may result in the non-consideration of the bid submission, and provides instructions for vendors to return the acknowledgment form if the addendum causes any need to revise their original proposal.

VENDOR INQUIRY:

OUR QUESTION IS:

Will the successful bidder be responsible for any electrical work beyond plugging in the units to an existing standard 115v receptacle (NEMA 5-15)?

If electrical modifications, new circuits, or receptacle installations are required to accommodate these units, logic services can perform such work; however, we would need this requirement to be clarified in advance so it can be included in our proposal pricing.

We appreciate your guidance on this point to ensure full compliance and accurate pricing in our bid submission.

RESPONSE: NSU does not require any electrical work to be done for the installation of the fume hoods.

This addendum is hereby officially made a part of the referenced solicitation and should be attached to the bidder’s proposal or otherwise acknowledged therein.
