About this file
This document is an Addendum No. 1 for Invitation to Bid (ITB) #50-805-25-17148 issued by the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) for the Anton Chico Water and Wastewater Improvements project. The addendum provides responses to 22 bidder questions and includes a pre-bid meeting sign-in sheet, with key project details indicating final completion is required prior to June 2026 when the owner's funding expires. The project involves water and wastewater improvements for rest areas, including infrastructure such as water distribution lines, septic systems, piping, valve installations, and associated components. A mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on April 16, 2025, and bidders were provided clarifications on technical specifications, including pipe materials, hydrant details, valve configurations, and installation requirements.
The project will be funded directly by NMDOT, with no specific domestic material requirements identified. Contractors are expected to submit product approvals during the pre-construction phase for items like floor drains, valve boxes, and metering assemblies. The geotechnical assessment indicated no rock encountered up to 6 feet deep, and backfill material will require proctor reports for engineer review. Permit applications for the septic system will be submitted by the engineer to NMED after project award. While an engineer's estimate was not distributed, the comprehensive nature of the infrastructure improvements suggests a significant project scope involving complex municipal water and wastewater system installations in a rural rest area environment.
