About this file
This document is a detailed specification for a 5-ton single girder top running bridge crane for the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) Havre Welding Shop. The specification requires the procurement, delivery, and installation of a new crane with specific technical requirements, including a 10,000-pound capacity CMAA Class 'C' crane with a 20/3.2 FPM hoisting speed, 65 FPM trolley speed, and 100 FPM bridge speed. The crane must include a Williams wireless remote system, rigid 'C' track with flat cable festoon system, and an overload protection device. Additional components include a 40lb runway rail system, a 110-amp runway electrification system, and comprehensive installation requirements with operational and OSHA load testing.
The specification outlines additional requirements such as providing current repair and parts manuals, two operator's manuals, and on-site training for Havre Equipment Shop personnel. Installation is to be completed during shop hours of 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, with the specific completion date to be discussed at a pre-award meeting. Manufacturers' literature must accompany all bids, and the vendor will be responsible for providing a schedule and all necessary materials and equipment for installation. While the related contract opportunity describes a different procurement for camera equipment for large game monitoring, this specific document focuses solely on the crane specifications for the MDT Havre Welding Shop.
