About this file
This is a General Notes sheet for storm sewer repair work prepared for the City of Wichita, Kansas, Public Works & Utilities Department, related to project SWS #837 covering S Ashley Park & W Harmony Street and 6201 W Brookview Street. The project encompasses two primary sites requiring distinct repair approaches: Site 1 involves cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) repair work on 42-inch and 48-inch reinforced concrete pipe (RCP), including dewatering, cleaning, joint repairs, and grouting; Site 2 requires complete abandonment of an existing manhole, including top removal, cleaning, joint repairs, and plugging with fill dirt and compaction. All existing utility locations, elevations, depths, and pipe specifications shown on the plans are noted as preliminary and subject to field verification by the contractor prior to construction. Site restoration work is specified as a lump sum bid item and includes seeding, mulching, erosion control blanket installation on slopes steeper than 6:1, and repair or replacement of any site features damaged during construction, such as drainage structures, sidewalks, pavement, driveways, landscaping, fencing, and irrigation systems.
All work and materials must comply with City of Wichita standard specifications and require Field Engineer approval. Proposed pipe flowlines shall match existing elevations as closely as feasible, with final elevations determined in the field. The contractor is responsible for all dewatering, cleaning, and material costs associated with pipe repair and manhole abandonment work, with these costs incorporated as subsidiary to their respective bid items. No specific pricing terms, bid deadlines, site visit requirements, or contract term information is detailed in this general notes document.
