Features
The Dell 1U KMM rack console provides more flexibility in rack installation, regional keyboards to support multiple languages, and improved power dissipation specifications.
The interface for the keyboard with touchpad mouse provides ease of use and interchangeability with USB and PS/2 connections.
Ease of installation
The KMM console fits easily into the Dell PowerEdge™ 2420, 4220, 4820, 4820D, 4820W, 4220D and 4220W racks, as well as the previous generation PowerEdge 2410 and 4210 racks and third-party racks that meet the EIA- 310-E specification. Compatibility with the 1U rack-mount sliding rail kit enables quick installation in a rack. The console is offered with RapidRails™ for tool-less installa-tion in Dell or third-party square-hole racks; it can also be ordered with VersaRails™ for tooled installation in third-party racks with unthreaded round holes or square holes.
The KMM console supports multiple enterprise configura-tions. It can be connected directly to the keyboard, video, and mouse (KVM) ports on a single rack-mounted server for a simple one-to-one interface. It can also be attached to a rack-mounted KVM console switch, such as the Dell PowerEdge 4332DS, which supports up to 32 servers. A console switch maintains the electrical connection to each server as the KMM rack console is switched by the KVM among the connected systems. The KMM can also provide access to servers which are connected by a cas-caded console switch in a 2-tier architecture, interfacing through both KVM ports in the path.
Regional support
Dell provides user accessibility for multiple geographic regions. The KMM console can be configured for mul-tiple keyboard options and power cords to meet regional needs. Keyboard language options include English (both US and UK versions), French, Spanish, German, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Korean, and Japanese. The keyboard is easily positioned in the tray and connected to the server or KVM via the cable which provides the option for either USB or PS/2 interface.
The IEC C13 to C14 power cord is pre-installed on the unit and allows for connection to current and legacy power distribution units (PDUs). NEMA and INMETRO cords are also supported for some regions. If an alternate cord is required, the IEC cord can be easily changed with an alter-nate power cord with a female C13 connector or extend-ed by attaching another cord to the C14 connector.
Dell™ Server Rack Infrastructure – 1U KMM Rack Console
Dell™ Server Rack Infrastructure – 1U KMM Rack Console Dell’s commitment to large enterprise customers includes offering the infrastructure and accessories that companies need to complement their server installation. The 1U keyboard, monitor, and mouse (KMM) rack console offers IT managers the ability to install a single, integrated user console in a slim 1U (1.75”) form factor.

Designed for permanently installed sound systems where rackspace is at a premium, QSC’s CX108V and CX168 provide unprecedented levels of channel density for multi-channel amplifiers. The CX108V and CX168 provide 100 watts per channel at 70 volts and 90 watts per channel at 8 ohms respectively. With both models, each pair of channels may be bridged to configure these amplifiers as 4, 5, 6 or 7 channel units. Like the entire CX Series, the 8 channel models feature DataPorts for remote amplifier management or signal processing, incorporate QSC’s legendary PowerLight™ technology, and deliver our unmatched reputation for quality and reliability.
QSC’s PowerLight technology takes your audio to an entirely new level. Delivering tighter bass and clean, transparent highs, PowerLight also cuts waste heat, boosts reliability, and eliminates unwanted noise and hum. PowerLight is a revolutionary switching power supply technology that provides ample current to the audio power circuitry by charging the supply rails over 200,000 times per second through an ultra-low noise impedance circuit. Unlike amplifiers that use conventional supplies, the audio signal is never starved prematurely and remains crisp and clean.

EM18A is a rugged industrial WAV player designed for the most demanding jobs. Much like a CD player playing sound tracks from a CD, EM18A plays sound files from an SD/SDHC memory card but without the moving parts to wear and tear. The file format support is 8-bit uncompressed WAV files with sampling rate up to 44.1KHz. Although the sound quality is not as good as our MP3 players, it is close to AM radio.
Audio programming for the unit is as simple as copying sound files to the memory card via a card reader attached to the computer. The type of memory cards used, the SD/SDHC cards, are most popular and readily available in a number of capacities to suit different needs. Hundreds of tracks totaling hours of audio can be stored onto an inexpensive card for instant playback.
Powered by a single voltage DC power supply, EM18A features a built-in energy saving class D power amplifier with minimum heat dissipation. A line level output is also available for feeding an external amplifier if desired. Audio playback can be triggered with a variety of methods such as push buttons, motion/alarm sensors and PLCs. Keypads and other custom interfaces are available by special request.
EM18A can be easily configured to work in different operation modes such as:
- Start the playback when the trigger is applied or removed.
- Allow the playback to be interruptible by another trigger or not.
- Play the sound just once or loop it till the trigger is removed.
- Start/pause/resume/stop the sound via the serial port.
Housed in a compact yet rugged metal case, EM18A can be easily secured into place with the integrated mounting tabs on each side of the unit. Wiring is done via screw terminals and requires only a small screw driver. The screw terminals are unpluggable, making it fool-proof to replace the unit in the field when necessary.
Optional Features
Automatic Time-Triggered Audio Playback Automatic time-triggered audio playback is possible by controlling the player with an optional TMR-08 Weekly Event Timer. Each weekday may have a different program of events.
Remote File Management When equipped with the QuikWave Remote File Management Kit the sound files can be remotely managed via wired or wireless network.
