About this file

This document is a product specification sheet for the new 4925 RF Front End (RFFE) Retrofit Kit by Black River Systems for the Ninja Gen 2 System. The product replaces the legacy 284501 RFFE, offering enhanced capabilities including support for multiple RF signal bands (400 MHz, 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz), consolidated hardware design, higher peak transmit power, and improved system control through an Ethernet link. The timeline indicates the new RFFE 4925 Retrofit Kit becomes available September 1, 2022, with customers able to purchase spare legacy RFFE units until the end of December 2022, after which the legacy system will be fully phased out by October 1, 2023.

Migration requirements include installing a 900 MHz antenna set and upgrading to software version 1.70 or higher. All Gen 2 systems ordered after June 1, 2021, will receive the 4925 Retrofit Kit at no cost. Interested parties are directed to contact Black River Systems at sales@brsc.com or call Vijay Srinivas at +1 315.278.7204 for procurement details. Key benefits of the new RFFE include RF band agile configuration for swarm and mass attack mitigation, built-in test capabilities, remote health monitoring, and an externally accessible main fuse.
