Sunshade Maintenance
Questions from industry
The following are responses to site visit questions:
Q: Who is the current service provider?
A: Currently, we have two BPA holders.
Q: What is current [current amount] spent by government for these services? What is the current spending on inspections, maintenance and emergency?
A: Zero. No calls have been made against the current BPA yet. Historically, our emergency/urgent needs have been low.
Prior to the BPA there was a service contract in place. The total value for the one year service contract was $155,240.00.
Q: Manufacturer?
A: EDL Construction
Q: Is there power to the sunshades?
A: Yes
Q: Can you tell me generally the schedule of the previous maintenance contractor, how many days a week he was on-site?
A: Zero during the period since awarding the two BPAs since no calls have been made. Prior to that, the amount of time is unknown.
Q: How many sunshades total?
A: 54.
Q: Can you send a picture of one?
A: Unfortunately no. We were not able to obtain an authorized picture prior to solicitation or the date despite our best efforts to do so.
Q: Will the base provide replacement parts as needed (lights, fittings, etc.) or will the contractor purchase them?
A: In accordance with the PWS, routine maintenance items and service shall be included in the quote and thus, covered by the contractor. For urgent and emergency maintenance, please refer to the PWS, section C (page 14).
Q: Are there currently any avian, pests or other infestations in the sunshades?
A: Unknown. As far as we know, none have been observed and the bird netting is intact and effective.
