STATEMENTS OF QUALIFICATIONS

Engineering Services for Pine Street Road and Culvert

The City of Claxton is requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from experienced firms interested in providing engineering services in connection with planning, design, and hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) study services for the replacement and upsizing of two (2) existing culverts and the restoration of Pine Street in the City of Claxton to pre-disaster conditions.

This project involves evaluating and providing evidence that demonstrates the existing Pine Street culverts require upsizing as well as providing a detailed design plan for the upsizing of the culverts and the roadway repairs. Work will consist of replacing concrete pipe sections, backfill with native soil so the culverts underneath the road can adequately handle the stormwater, and final road repair including asphalt and concrete curbs. Project location and site photos are provided in Appendices A and B, respectively.

The purpose of this work is to reduce risks to civil infrastructure by upsizing culvert pipes in order to adequately handle stormwater and reduce the repeated washing out of the road above the culverts.
