About this file
This document provides details for the 2022 Transit Bus Program federal contract opportunity. The General Services Administration (GSA) is seeking medium and heavy transit buses in five categories for 2022, including 40-foot and 60-foot battery electric models. Interested vendors must request an AutoStandards account by May 17th to participate in the requirements refinement process from May 13th to June 4th. During this period, vendors will submit vehicle technical data for consideration through GSA's AutoStandards system. GSA will then develop the Federal Vehicle Standards based on this input. The anticipated solicitation will be released in summer 2021, at which point vendors may only submit proposals for vehicles predefined in AutoStandards. GSA held a pre-solicitation conference on May 13th to review these instructions and the AutoStandards system. The agency looks forward to vendor participation in the procurement for transit buses to be provided to federal agencies in 2022.
