IRS Security Upgrade RFI Answers

1. Q: How many ceiling mounted motion sensors, door contacts, and cameras are needed in this area? Per the plans they show motion sensors, door contacts, and cameras in areas that do not belong to the IRS.

A: A floor plan will be provided indicating the location of the equipment. A total of two (2) cameras, two (2) motion detectors, and two (2) door contacts will be removed from the Scope of Work.

2. Q: Can the cables for all the security devices like motion sensors, keypad, glass break, cameras, door contacts, excreta be free aired above the drop ceiling or do they need to be installed in conduit?

A: Cable only needs to be in conduit if it leaves IRS space.

3. Q: Does the Megacenter charge by the hour or are they free? If there is a charge, do I need to include it on my quote or does GSA cover the cost?

A: Do not worry about the Megacenter fees/charges. Does not need to be included in the estimate. Scope will be modified.
