Capital Security Program

Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse Detroit, Michigan

1) In the drawing set for the Capital Security Program project at the Theodore Levin U.S.

Courthouse it appears that sheet A310 Sections for Overhead Door Walls is missing from the drawing set.

Response: Thank you for the question. This was a mistake on the drawing index on Sheet G002. There is no sheet A310. The information relative to the overhead door sections is found on sheet A209.

2) Key Note Number 87 is identified on Sheet A116 but is not defined anywhere.

Response: The key note 87 shown near column line B-8 on Sheet A-116 is shown in error.

There is no scope in that location.

3) Sheet HAZ-103 has a Hatching Pattern shown between Holding Cell 203 and Holding Cell 205, again between Holding Cells and Office. This Hatching Pattern is not identified anywhere on the drawings. Can you please identify what happens in this location?

Response: The intent of the hatch designates that the wall is a CMU wall to be removed.

4) Question raised during walkthrough: how should the hazardous abatement be priced?

Response: Scope for hazardous abatement is shown properly within the contract documents. Include costs for all scope as shown.

5) Question raised during walkthrough: are powder-actuated fasteners allowed?

Response: No. Powder-actuated fasteners will not be allowed on this project. There is a conflict in the specifications regarding this. Specification section 200529-3.1.L correctly states “Powder actuated anchoring devices shall not be used to support any mechanical system components.” Specification section 260529-2.1.G.1 incorrectly states that powder actuated devices can be used. It is also incorrectly stated in section 260529-3.2.D.5.
