EJB R-22 HVAC Units Replacement

Major General Emmett J. Bean Federal Center Indianapolis, Indiana

1) Do we need strainers in the liquid line of all the units?

Response: For applications where there is not a bypass, snip below, a strainer is not needed since there is a filter upstream.

For applications where there is a bypass, snip below, a strainer is needed since the filter could be bypassed.

2) Can we please get clarification in regards to Amendment 1 - RFI #7? You answered that the both building have a N4 BMS by Schneider Electric. The specifications have not been changed to list Precision or Schneider for the controls and still lists JCI as the only acceptable manufacturer due to integration with existing systems. JCI cannot integrate into the existing Schneider front end. Is the control system still to be provided by JCI with integration by Precision/Schneider, should JCI provide stand-alone graphics for their system that is part of their project, or are the controls and integration to be sub-contracted to Precision/Schneider?

Response: The amendment corrects the spec, a new spec will not be issued. Both the EJB & the Daycare have N4 building management systems by Schneider Electric installed by Precision Controls.
