INSTRUCTIONS
Instructions for items other than those that are self-explanatory, are as follows:
Item 1 (Contract ID Code). Insert the contract type identification code that appears in the title block of the contract being modified.

For a solicitation amendment, change order, or administrative change, the effective date shall be the issue date of the amendment, change order, or administrative change.
For a supplemental agreement, the effective date shall be the date agreed to by the contracting parties.
For a modification issued as an initial or confirming notice of termination for the convenience of the Government, the effective date and the modification number of the confirming notice shall be the same as the effective date and modification number of the initial notice.
For a modification converting a termination for default to a termination for the convenience of the Government, the effective date shall be the same as the effective date of the termination for default.
For a modification confirming the contacting officer's determination of the amount due in settlement of a contract termination, the effective date shall be the same as the effective date of the initial decision.

Organize amendments or modifications under the appropriate Uniform Contract Format (UCF) section headings from the applicable solicitation or contract. The UCF table of contents, however, shall not be set forth in this document

SECTION 09 51 23 - ACOUSTICAL TILE CEILINGS
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 DESCRIPTION
A. Work includes metal ceiling suspension system for acoustical ceilings and acoustical units (pads) for metal ceiling suspension systems.
1.2 SUBMITTALS
A. Samples:
1. Acoustical units, each type, with label indicating conformance to specification requirements, including units specified to match existing.
2. Colored pins or markers for units providing access.
B. Manufacturer's Literature and Data:
1. Ceiling suspension system, each type, showing complete details of installation, including suspension system specified to match existing.
2. Acoustical units, each type
C. The acoustical tile pads and the metal suspension must be compatible as indicated in the manufacturer's written literature. Submittals of the ceiling system shall specifically indicate the required compatibility.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
A. Fire-Resistance-Rated Assemblies: Provide materials and construction identical to those tested in assemblies per ASTM E 119 by an independent testing and inspecting agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction.
B. Seismic Standard: Provide acoustical tile ceilings designed and installed to withstand the effects of earthquake motions according to the following:

1. CISCA's Recommendations for Acoustical Ceilings: Comply with CISCA's "Recommendations for Direct-Hung Acoustical Tile and Lay-in Panel Ceilings - Seismic Zones 0-2."
2. CISCA's Guidelines for Systems Requiring Seismic Restraint: Comply with CISCA's "Guidelines for Seismic Restraint of Direct-Hung Suspended Ceiling Assemblies - Seismic Zones 3 & 4."
3. UBC Standard 25-2, "Metal Suspension Systems for Acoustical Tile and for Lay-in Panel Ceilings."
2.2 ACOUSTICAL TILE –
A. Products: Certain Teed Symphony f (Performance Series Fiberglass Ceiling)
B. Surface-Burning Characteristics: ASTM E 1264, Class A materials, tested per
ASTM E 84.
C. Edge Detail: Narrow Reveal
D. Thickness: 5/8 inch.
E. Modular Size: 2’ X 2’.
F. Certain Teed / 9/16" Elite Narrow Stab System (Grid) / Symphony f (Tile)
2.3 SUSPENSION SYSTEM
A. CertainTeed 9/16” Elite Narrow Stab System
2.4 ACOUSTICAL PLENUM BARRIER
A. Acoustical Surfaces, Inc. ECHO Eliminator Plenum Barrier. Non-flammable and approved for plenum use. 1” thick, 2’x4’ in size. Adhere to structural concrete above the condensing units within the plenum. Use low VOC construction adhesive approved by manufacturer. Cover structural concrete surface above condensing units. Support acoustical panel below condensing units (above acoustic ceiling) with light gauge framing or Unistrut as required. Install one sheet of acoustical barrier per condensing unit.

PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 INSTALLATION
A. Ceiling Suspension System Installation: Comply with ASTM C 636 and CISCA's "Ceiling Systems Handbook."
1. Fire-Rated Assembly: Install fire-rated ceiling systems according to tested fire-rated design.
B. Install acoustical tiles in coordination with suspension system and exposed moldings and trim. Place splines or suspension system flanges into kerfed edges so tile-to-tile joints are closed by double lap of material.
1. Fit adjoining tile to form flush, tight joints. Scribe and cut tile for accurate fit at borders and around penetrations through tile.
2. Paint edges of tile when insulation is exposed – paint to match ceiling tile.
C. Adhesive Installation: Install acoustical tile by bonding to substrate, using amount of adhesive and procedure recommended in writing by tile manufacturer and as follows:
1. Install splines in joints between tiles; maintain bottom surface of tiles in a level plane.
2. Maintain tight butt joints, aligned in both directions and coordinated with ceiling fixtures.
D. Stapled Installation: Fasten acoustical tile to substrate using a minimum of two staples per tile that are installed in flanges of tile and as follows:
1. Maintain bottom surface of tiles in a level plane; shim tile or correct substrate as required.
2. Maintain tight butt joints, aligned in both directions and coordinated with ceiling fixtures.

SECTION 096813 - TILE CARPETING
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SECTION REQUIREMENTS
A. Submittals: Product Data and Samples.
B. Extra Materials: Deliver to Owner carpet tiles equal to 5 percent of each type and color carpet tile installed, packaged with protective covering for storage.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 See Drawing Sheet A-104 for Finish Schedule.
2.2 CARPET TILE
A. Products:
1. Refer to Finish Schedule on the Drawings.
B. Critical Radiant Flux Classification: Class I per ASTM E 648.
C. Carpet accessories: provide carpet edge at all flooring transitions.
D. Adhesive as recommended by the manufacturer.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 INSTALLATION
A. Comply with CRI 104.
B. Installation Method: As recommended by manufacturer. Verify pattern orientation with Government and Architect prior to installation.
