Question-Answer

Question 1 - DEA Side - There are stages built in existing hearing rooms and office, number (4) total. There is electrical power in each one. The architectural demo plan shows nothing in reference to these stages. The electrical demo shows nothing in reference to the power in them.

Please advise. See picture.

Answer: All electrical devices, boxes, conduit, wiring, and accessories shall be removed from the stages back to the source per Note D-1 on Sheet ED-100.

Question 2 - DEA Side – The existing wallpaper walls that show no demo, please advise your intent for finish look. I’ve clouded the walls that show wallpaper with no demo happening.

Answer: In lieu of removing wallpaper, provide and install metal studs/furring (depth as required to conceal conduit and backboxes), and 5/8” GWB to existing perimeter walls.

Question 3 - Who can we contact to get back into the space to review something?

Answer: A pre-proposal meeting and walk-through were held on January 10, 2018. Offerors are urged and expected to inspect the site where the work will be performed, but this is not mandatory.

In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim after task order award.

Question 4 – GSA Tenant Backfill: Option 1 Provide work associated with the relocation of the VAV unit presently serving the Tenant but located in an adjacent tenant.

Is this the FPV EX-13 shown on M100? If so where is it located in the adjacent tenant space?

Answer: Demo is shown on the DEA set of drawings. New installation is shown on the GSA tenant drawings.

Question 5 – GSA Tenant Backfill: Option 1 Provide work associated with the relocation of the VAV unit presently serving the Tenant but located in an adjacent tenant.

On sheet M100 in space adjacent to Rm 2102 it appears to show additional ductwork where existing 22x14 ductwork from existing VAV that currently serves this area, is this work part of the project? If so, please provide drawings or sketches for cost preparation.

Answer: New sheet metal and piping efforts required in spaces to the east of room 2102 are shown on the DEA set of drawings. New sheet metal and piping efforts required in the tenant space that includes room 2102 are shown on the GSA tenant set of drawings.

Question 6 – GSA Tenant Backfill: Option 1 Provide work associated with the relocation of the VAV unit presently serving the Tenant but located in an adjacent tenant.

Will this work have to done during off hours, since this work is outside of project limits?

Answer: This will not have to be done after hours but will have to be coordinated well in advance of when they need access to our space to include conducting minimal background checks on the contractors.

Question 7 – GSA Tenant Backfill: Option 1 Provide work associated with the relocation of the VAV unit presently serving the Tenant but located in an adjacent tenant.

What are the finishes in this area that must be restored after removal and reconfiguration or ductwork?

Answer: If the removal is performed before the build-out of the DEA space, restoring finishes would not be applicable.

Question 8 – DEA Area: All electrical contractors were unable to price the security cameras, or door security equipment in the space as no-one could locate a vendor for the product specified.

Can you please provide contact information for equipment supplier or vendor, or guidelines for substitution of another product?
