Project Description:
SDAC Government Service’s LLC. used a 3M Lead Check Swabs Kit to test for lead paint on three sections of the steps leading to the basement of the Newnan Federal Building. A swab was taken on the railings, one on the stringers and one on the yellow stairs. The only confirmation of lead came from the base paint on the stringers. The railings are gray as well as the stringers, but they are not the same color gray on these two sections. The stringers are a different shade from the railings. It was only the stringers that turned the swabs red. An area on the railings, steps and stringers were scraped to get a clean test spot. The swabs were rubbed for 30 seconds on each section. The test paper indicated that the tests had been properly performed.
