About this file

This file is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity 47PC5326Q0014. It addresses three inquiries from potential bidders regarding project documentation, material specifications, and bonding requirements.

The document clarifies that project drawings are located on page 8 of the Statement of Work with specifications found in section 6.2. For materials, the glass specification is 1/4" clear tempered glass with Oldcastle Bronze 740 finish in the Light Range, with no bullet resistance requirement. While City Glass Company was used on a similar prior project, the government does not mandate use of any specific contractor. Regarding bonding, the response confirms that Performance and Payment bonds are not required, and no bid guarantee is required. The contracting officer's clarification references FAR 28.102-1(a), stating that a bid guarantee cannot be required unless a performance bond or performance and payment bond is also mandated.

Confirm what type of glass is needed, and whether there are requirements for bullet resistant grading.

The glass is 1/4" clear tempered. The finish is (Oldcastle Bronze 740 – Light Range). No bullet resistance is required. The company used on the similar project in the same chambers was City Glass Company, the government does not require any specific company to be used.

Could you please confirm?

P&P bonds are not required, and a bid guarantee is not required. The box on the SF1442 should have been marked as not required for the Bid Guarantee.
