The contract will be awarded as a lump sum price bid item contract, with detailed specifications for surface preparation, coating systems, and quality assurance. The project requires specialized contractors, including a California Class A General Engineering Contractor and a C33 licensed contractor with specific qualifications, such as SSPC QP-1 certification and experience with NSF/ANSI 61 approved interior coatings. Insurance requirements include $10 million in General Liability coverage, $1 million in Workers' Compensation, $5 million in pollution liability, and $1 million in professional liability coverage. Liquidated damages are set at $2,000 per calendar day beyond the contract completion date. The coating work involves multiple coating systems with specific dry film thickness requirements, color specifications, and rigorous quality control and holiday testing procedures.
