About this file

This is Addendum No. 1 to a Request for Proposals issued by the City of Chandler, Arizona for Solicitation No. PW2-962-4352 regarding transportation of bulk waste and operation of a recycling solid waste collection center. The addendum revises the proposal due date to August 24, 2021 at 4:00 pm local Arizona time. The scope of work includes operations at multiple facilities: the Surface Water Treatment Plant, Ocotillo Water Reclamation Facility, Airport Water Reclamation Facility, Ocotillo Brine Reduction Facility, street sweeper waste locations, water distribution waste locations, and the Recycling-Solid Waste Collection Center (RSWCC). The RSWCC handled 79,921 total visits and 11,727.57 tons during the period July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021. A minimum of 8 trailers is required on weekends at the RSWCC, while 2-4 trailers are typically needed daily at the Airport Water Reclamation Facility and a minimum of 5 trailers at the Ocotillo Brine Reduction Facility with additional capacity needed on weekends and during inclement weather. The addendum provides contact information for site visit scheduling at each facility.

The addendum clarifies that e-waste, green waste, and scrap metal transportation are not included in the scope. The City retains responsibility for scale calibration, while the contractor assumes responsibility for scale maintenance following the City's final cleaning. The contractor may perform equipment maintenance on days the facility is closed to the public. Limited space is available on site, including a small office and building for contractor use, along with water access via fire hydrant; however, power washing facilities are not available. Traffic data for detailed analysis covering May 1, 2021 through July 30, 2021 is provided in Attachment A to the addendum.
