About this file
This document is a Packaging Requirements specification (AFMC Form 158) for federal contract FD20302601117-00. The specification establishes mandatory packaging and marking standards for three line items (2840012118933NZ, 2840DTH2600AANZ, and 2840DTH2600ABNZ) using MIL-STD-129 Revision R and MIL-STD-2073-1 Revision E standards.
All wood packaging material (WPM)—including pallets, skids, wooden boxes, crates, and dunnage—must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Centigrade (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for 30 minutes to comply with United Nations restrictions on invasive species, specifically the pinewood nematode. Certification and marking by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) is required, with reference to International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM No. 15). Items require MIL Long Line Packaging at Preservation Level MIL and Packaging Level B. Unit pack specifications are 15.5 inches length and width, 10.5 inches depth, with a cube of 1.459. Shipping containers must comply with MIL-STD-129 marking standards and include supplemental markings indicating "CAUTION VCI TREATED & REUSABLE CONTAINER." Additional marking requirements may include unit serial numbers, OEM names, or OEM model numbers as specified on the AFMC Form 158. The specification was prepared by Billy S. Real, Packaging Specialist at 406 SCMS/GULAA, and signed on February 19, 2026.
