About this file
This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the Laredo Independent School District (LISD) in Texas for auctioneering services to sell surplus assets including vehicles, office furniture, equipment, and miscellaneous items. The district, which serves approximately 20,500 students across 33 educational institutions, is seeking qualified vendors to conduct public auction sales at either LISD facilities or the auctioneer's facility, with auction dates and locations to be negotiated based on district needs. The RFP was first advertised on January 24, 2026, with a second advertisement on January 25, 2026. Proposals are due by February 10, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. Central Standard Time and must be submitted electronically through the district's Bonfire e-bid system or physically received and time-stamped at the Procurement Department. The evaluation committee recommendation is anticipated before February 27, 2026. No pre-proposal conference or site visit is specified in the document.
Compensation is structured as a fixed percentage of net sales collected with no buyer premiums allowed, and the auctioneer's fee is payable no later than 14 working days following collection of auction proceeds and submission of required documentation. The auctioneer is responsible for providing all necessary personnel (including at least one licensed auctioneer, two cashiers/clerks, and one transaction recorder), equipment, advertising (minimum two local newspaper insertions), a sign (minimum 4' x 6'), sound system, registration forms, and audio recording of auction terms and sales. For auctions at LISD facilities, the auctioneer bears standard operational costs; for auctions at the auctioneer's facility, the auctioneer is additionally responsible for providing moving services for heavy equipment, inoperable vehicles, and items requiring special towing or crane services. The auctioneer collects all sale proceeds and remits the 8.25% sales tax to the state, remaining responsible for any funds lost or misapplied until transfer to the district. Awarded vendors must provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance (Form ACORD 25) with LISD named as certificate holder within 10 days of award. No incumbent vendor, specific funding source, or contract term duration is identified in the RFP.
