About this file

This is an Insurance Requirements document for the Medical Examiner and Trauma Services Division of Broward County, Florida, outlining mandatory insurance coverage for contractors performing installation of emergency lighting and electrical components on two Ford Transit Vans. The project requires installation work on a 2017 Low Roof model and a 2020 Mid Roof model vehicle. The contractor must obtain a Certificate of Insurance naming Broward County as the Certificate Holder at 115 South Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301, and as an additional insured on all liability policies except Professional Liability. The County must receive 30 days' written notice of policy cancellation and 10 days' notice for non-payment cancellations.

The insurance requirements mandate the following minimum coverage limits: General Liability with Broad Form coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate; Auto Liability of $500,000 combined bodily injury and property damage; Workers' Compensation at statutory limits; and Employer's Liability of $500,000 per accident. Professional Liability and Pollution/Environmental Liability are listed as not applicable (N/A) for this project. All contractor insurance shall provide primary coverage with no requirement for County contribution, and the contractor is responsible for all coverage deductibles unless specified otherwise in the agreement. For Claims-Made policies, evidence of insurance must be maintained for at least three years after contract completion. Any self-insured retention higher than permitted must be declared to and approved by the County with proof of financial ability to cover potential losses.
