About this file

This document is a Data Requirements Description (DRD) list for a Mechanical Engineering Support and Assistance (MESA) Subcontract at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). The document details a comprehensive list of 140+ Data Requirement Descriptions (DRDs) across ten major categories including Configuration Management, Environmental Requirements, Mission Assurance, Procurement, Reviews, Resource Management, Systems Engineering, Thermal/Dynamics/Structural Analysis, Test/Integration/Verification, and Transportation. Each DRD specifies detailed documentation requirements, delivery formats, sources of requirements, and specific content guidelines for various technical and project management documents that a subcontractor would be required to produce throughout the project lifecycle.

The DRDs cover a wide range of technical and administrative documentation, from high-level plans like the Spacecraft and Flight System Requirements Document to specific technical reports such as Thermal Models, Structural Analysis Reports, and Verification Summary Matrices. Delivery formats vary but typically include Microsoft Word, Excel, PDF, or native engineering software formats. The documents are designed to ensure comprehensive documentation, traceability, and verification of technical requirements across subsystem, assembly, and system-level activities, with a focus on supporting JPL's rigorous engineering and project management standards for aerospace and space exploration projects.
