STATEMENT OF WORK

NIMITZ LIBRARY SUBSCRIPTION REQUIREMENTS

A. Background The Nimitz Library at the U.S. Naval Academy is an academic library in support a patron population of approximately 4,520 midshipman, 600 faculty, and 3,000 other staff and military personnel. To meet the academic/educational mission requirements of the Naval Academy, the Nimitz Library subscribes to scholarly content in the form of scholarly journals and other periodicals. This subscription content is an integral part of the Library’s collections and services as curriculum and course development as well as midshipman and faculty research are dependent upon them.

B. Scope In order to sustain Library performance, support and advance the educational mission of the Academy, and provide the necessary resources to sustain faculty research agendas, the Nimitz Library must subscribe to key scholarly databases that provide crucial historical information and data. These database subscriptions must provide the unique intellectual property necessary for the Academy’s specific educational and research needs.

C. Requirements

a. Full-text access to the selected AIP Publishing online scholarly journals.

b. Articles must be indexable by the Library’s Ex Libris System

c. Publisher POC should respond within one business day to all technical and content questions and problems posed by the Library’s POC.

d. The content provider must be able to be a signatory on bi-lateral license and terms & conditions agreements.

D. Deliverables

a. One-year subscription plus four option years to the AIP Select Package containing the following online scholarly journals:

i. Applied Physics Letters

ii. Chaos

iii. Journal of Applied Physics

iv. Journal of Chemical Physics

v. Journal of Mathematical Physics

vi. Physics of Fluids

vii. Physics of Plasmas

viii. Physics Today

ix. Review of Scientific Instruments

b. One-year subscription plus four option years to the following AIP Publishing online journals:

i. American Journal of Physics

ii. Journal of the Physical and Chemical Reference Data

iii. Journal of the Acoustical Society of America

iv. The Physics Teacher

E. Periods of Performance

a. January 1 2024 – December 31 2024

b. January 1 2025 – December 31 2025

c. January 1 2026 – December 31 2026

d. January 1 2027 – December 31 2027

e. January 1 2028 – December 31 2028
