About this file

This is a Scope of Work document for the Utah Geological Survey (UGS) related to a comprehensive data integration and 3D geological modeling project (AK26-31) covering the Great Basin area of Nevada and Utah. The project is structured in two phases, with Phase 1 focused on compiling public-domain geoscientific datasets, performing gap analysis, and delivering a foundational 3D geological model accessible to the public through free geophysical viewers. Phase 1 deliverables include a complete master 3D dataset in Geoscience ANALYST format, a comprehensive data register documenting all compiled datasets and metadata, a technical report detailing gap analysis outcomes and collection strategies, and two live online training sessions for UGS staff on the Geoscience ANALYST platform. Phase 1 is scheduled for completion by September 30, 2026, with project initiation within two weeks of contract execution and an anticipated duration of 2 to 3 months. Phase 2, contingent on Phase 1 results, will focus on geophysical inversions and depth-to-bedrock modeling for improved mineral prospectivity mapping, with completion required by April 30, 2027 and an anticipated duration of up to 4 months. The contractor will be required to conduct biweekly virtual check-ins with UGS staff to verify project progress and ensure all data quality metrics are met.

The maximum budget for Phase 1 is $40,000, while Phase 2 has a maximum budget of $80,000, with all costs to be invoiced by the contractor and included within UGS's BHP Xplor workplan scheduled for completion in June 2027. The contractor must assign a qualified technical team consisting of principal consultants and geophysics experts with experience in regional mineral prospectivity assessments, particularly related to porphyry copper, and must provide all software training materials, remote connection platforms, and technical report documentation. UGS will provide access to all known publicly accessible geophysical data in Utah and Nevada, as well as geologic expertise in Great Basin geology. All final geospatial data products must successfully render in 3D within the free tier entry-level Geoscience ANALYST viewer without requiring paid commercial extensions, and UGS will assign staff or collaboration partners with geophysical expertise to assess the quality, coverage, integration, and modeling of all data products throughout the project.

Scope of Work

#AK26-31

Introduction This project will execute Phase 1 of a comprehensive data integration and 3D geological modelling exercise over the Great Basin area of Nevada and Utah. The primary objective is to compile, assess, and perform a gap analysis on existing public domain geoscientific datasets to establish a foundational framework for subsequent structural and geophysical data collection. Success looks like a fully compiled, open-access 3D project delivered in a free geophysical 3D viewer format that can be accessed publicly, alongside a strategic roadmap that defines strategies to maximize geophysical collection impact for mineral resource prospectivity assessments. Following the results of the discovery phase, a second phase will be considered using geophysical inversions to improve depth to bedrock modeling over the Great Basin with respect to mineral resource prospectivity, with resulting products delivered in a free geophysical 3D viewer format that can be accessed publicly. The discovery phase of the project will be completed in 2-3 months with biweekly virtual check-ins to verify project progress.

Background The Utah Geological Survey (UGS) is driving a long-term mission to evaluate porphyry copper prospectivity and preservation potential across the Utah and Nevada portions of the Great Basin. Historically, regional geophysical datasets have resided in disparate formats and coordinate systems, limiting public accessibility and unified exploration workflows. To optimize pre-competitive data value, UGS requires a consolidated, geologically constrained baseline. This first phase of this project establishes that baseline by compiling public-domain data and producing a strategy for subsequent geophysical data collection. The second phase of the project, if it proceeds, will assess refining current pre-competitive depth-to-bedrock estimations and potential field inversions constrained by bedrock topography for the purposes of improving mineral prospectivity maps and building mineral preservation potential maps. The open-access deliverables follow best practice from international geological survey standards to ensure that multi-dimensional mineral systems data is directly downloadable and viewable by the public. Both phases of this project are required within UGS’s BHP Xplor program workplan which is scheduled for completion in June 2027.

Scope of Work The contractor will be responsible for the following boundaries of work during phase 1:

· Data Compilation & Search: Gather and document all public domain geophysical data leads compiled by UGS, supplemented by contractor-led targeted searches, over the Great Basin areas of Utah and Nevada that can be used in 3D modeling applications.

· 3D Spatial Integration: Reconcile conflicting coordinate systems and reproject all validated datasets into a single consistent metric coordinate system nominated by UGS.

· 3D Model: Build and integrate all verified data into a native 3D model compatible with the free, entry-level Geoscience ANALYST viewer ecosystem.

· Gap & Criteria Analysis: Systematically evaluate the compiled data to identify critical gaps in geophysical data coverage relative to mineral resource targeting and establish a localized targeting criteria framework, with a specific focus on collections that can maximize impact with minimal new data collection.

· Knowledge Transfer: Provide specialized remote training sessions to UGS technical staff to ensure internal proficiency in manipulating the 3D data environment in both free and proprietary Geoscience Analyst platforms.

Phase 2 will be informed by the outcomes of Phase 1 but broadly will focus on modeling and inversions on the existing public data to improve geophysical products that play a significant role in mineral prospectivity mapping and preservation potential mapping, such as depth to bedrock, potential fields inversions, and other prospectivity- and/or potential-specific computations as informed by Phase 1. All products from Phase 2 are also required to be delivered in a free geophysical 3D viewer format that can be accessed publicly, i.e. Geoscience ANALYST 3D viewer.

Requirements The contractor will assign a qualified technical team consisting of principal consultants and geophysics experts with experience in regional mineral prospectivity assessments, particularly related to porphyry copper. They will provide all software training materials, remote connection platforms, and technical report documentation. UGS will provide access to all known publicly accessible geophysics and related (e.g., sub-surface constraining) data in Utah and, to a lesser degree, in Nevada. UGS will provide geologic expertise in the Great Basin geology, formation, and evolution.

Compliance Contractor performance and quality metrics will be managed through the following benchmarks:

· Project check ins: Required progress meetings every 2 weeks on a virtual meeting platform to share interim project stages, results, observations, and any unexpected delays or challenges that might affect the project timeline or deliverables.

· Data quality: All final geospatial data objects must successfully render in 3D within the free tier entry-level viewer without requiring paid commercial extensions.

· Subject matter experts: The UGS will assign staff or collaboration partners with geophysical expertise to assess the quality, coverage, integration, and modeling of all data products as well as to review methodology, gap assessment, and data collection recommendations.

Project Deliverables The contractor must hand over the following tangible end products:

· 3D compilation: One complete master 3D dataset of all publicly available geophysical data over the Great Basin areas of Utah and Nevada delivered natively in Geoscience ANALYST format and, where practical, 2D slices that can be visualized within ArcPro as geotiffs.

· Data register: One spreadsheet comprehensively documenting all compiled data sets, metadata parameters, and cataloged objects.

· Technical report: One formalized PDF report detailing the gap analysis outcomes, methodology for the 3D compilation, identified data limitations, and a strategy for the highest impact geophysical collection in the Great Basin with respect to mineral prospectivity and preservation potential mapping.

· Staff Training: Two live, online, half-day (3.5-hour) technical training sessions for UGS staff on the Geoscience ANALYST platform, including delivering and manipulating 3D products within the free 3D Viewer platform, supplemented by up to one full day of ad-hoc email/virtual follow-up support.

Project Timeline The project initiation and kick off will occur within 2 weeks of contract execution. Phase 1 will take between 2 and 3 months with a required completion date by September 30th, 2026. Discussion on Phase 2 scope will take place after receiving and reviewing deliverables for Phase 2 but the work is planned to take up to 4 months with completion required by April 30th, 2027.

Project Budget The budget for the Phase 1 work within UGS’s BHP Xplor workplan is a maximum of $40,000. The budget for Phase 2 work within UGS’s BHP Xplor workplan is a maximum of $80,000. This includes all costs to be invoiced from the contractor.
