About this file
This is a school calendar document for the Rockwood School District in Missouri for the 2026-27 academic year, approved by the Board of Education on November 7, 2024, with pending approval scheduled for April 10, 2025. The calendar establishes the operational framework for the district, beginning with new teacher orientation from August 12-14 and August 17, followed by regular teacher orientation from August 18-21. Students' first day of school is scheduled for Monday, August 24, 2026. The calendar designates multiple professional development days, conference compensation days, and teacher work days throughout the year when schools are closed to students but teachers remain on duty. The academic year spans two semesters, with the second semester beginning on Tuesday, January 5, 2027, after winter break concludes on January 4. The calendar includes standard holiday closures for Labor Day, Thanksgiving, winter break, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, Presidents' Day, and Memorial Day. Spring recess is scheduled for March 15-19, 2027. The last day of school for seniors is May 7, 2027, with an early dismissal and grade recording day on May 28, 2027, and the final records day for teachers on duty on June 1, 2027.
The calendar also references a concurrent state and local contract opportunity for the Rockwood School District soliciting proposals for sanitation and safety training services, materials, and maintenance for thirty district-owned dishwashers. A mandatory pre-proposal meeting for this washware services contract is scheduled for 2:00 PM on February 26, 2026, at the Rockwood Child Nutrition Warehouse located at 17146 Manchester Road, Wildwood, Missouri 63040. Attendance at this pre-proposal meeting is mandatory, and failure to attend will result in automatic disqualification from the bidding process.
