About this file

This is a bid bond form required by the City of Temple, Texas for the Georgetown Railroad Trail, Phase 1 project (CSJ: 0909-36-173). The project involves the installation of approximately 7,400 linear feet of a 10-foot ADA-compliant hike and bike trail along the Georgetown Railroad corridor from South 31st Street to South 5th Street. The scope of work includes landscaping elements, an irrigation system, pedestrian lighting, electrical components, and a pedestrian HAWK signal at the intersection of South 31st Street and the Georgetown Railroad. The selected contractor must complete all work within 210 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. The contract will be awarded on a unit price basis, and TxDOT Standard Specifications are required for this project.

Bidders are required to submit a 5 percent bid bond with their bid submission, either through the Bonfire platform or via hard copy. The City of Temple may reject bids that include bid bonds submitted on forms other than the City's standard form if it determines that the alternative bond does not provide equivalent protection. The engineer's estimate of probable cost for this project is $3,780,000 and is funded by TxDOT. If a successful bidder withdraws its bid after opening or fails to enter into the contract and furnish satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds, the City is entitled to collect the full bid bond amount as liquidated damages. Venue for any legal action on the bond shall lie in Bell County, Texas.
