About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the United States Postal Service (USPS) on May 22, 2026, with a response deadline of June 19, 2026. USPS seeks market information and currently available telematics applications for managing and monitoring Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs) across multiple facilities. The system, termed System for Managing Powered Industrial Vehicles (SMPIV), must provide operational safety improvements, fleet visibility, maintenance tracking, operator accountability, and reporting capabilities. USPS operates over 10,500 PIVs for material processing and maintenance activities nationwide. The RFI explicitly states this is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal or promise of future contract award.
Suppliers must provide preliminary cost ranges, licensing fees, service fees, rate structures, and installation costs; clearly indicate which functional requirements their devices meet; and complete a 12-question questionnaire addressing support for forklifts, tow motors, and rider pallet jacks; simultaneous support for 10,500 PIVs; capacity for 75 PIVs in 600,000 square footage buildings; cloud service provider information; FedRAMP certification status; in-house hosting capability; manufacturer compatibility; installation partnerships; OSHA safety checklist recording; real-time alert capabilities; hardware update mechanisms; and role-based user administration. Responses must not exceed 30 pages and must include company information, history, experience, and a designated point of contact. Written submissions must be emailed to Pierre Durandisse (joseph.p.durandisse@usps.gov) and Yuko Dobashi (Yuko.Dobashi@usps.gov) by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on June 19, 2026. Questions regarding the RFI must be submitted by June 1, 2026, and USPS will consolidate and post timely questions and answers publicly rather than providing individual responses. USPS Provision A-2 applies, clarifying that the agency does not intend to award a contract or pay for information solicited through this RFI.
