About this file
The document is an Affidavit Regarding Labor and Services from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), specifically related to a state statute requiring nongovernmental entities to certify they do not use coerced labor when executing contracts with governmental entities. The affidavit is tied to an Electrical Vehicle Charging Station (EVCS) opportunity from the City of Fort Myers, which is seeking a comprehensive solution for installing, operating, and maintaining electric vehicle charging infrastructure on publicly owned properties.
The City of Fort Myers is requesting proposals from qualified contractors to provide a turnkey EVCS solution, including full funding, design, installation, operation, maintenance, and potential future removal of charging stations. The ideal contractor will identify optimal city-owned locations, ensure multi-car charging capabilities, provide necessary parking signage, handle permitting compliance, and meet ADA requirements. The proposal must detail the business model, including pricing mechanisms, billing practices, service fees, revenue distribution, and electricity cost recovery strategies. The document emphasizes the need for a flexible and comprehensive approach to implementing electric vehicle charging infrastructure within municipal properties.
