About this file
This document includes a federal contract solicitation and local safety requirements for a related construction project. The Department of Veterans Affairs will solicit proposals for a design-build contract to reconfigure the basement floor at the Dallas VA Medical Center for IT and administrative space. Work will involve relocating services and expanding and renovating a lab. The solicitation will be a request for proposal issued to service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses with a magnitude of construction between $1 million to $2 million. Responses are due in late January to early February 2020, with a performance period of approximately 200 calendar days from notice to proceed. The local safety requirements outline plans and analyses that must be submitted addressing accident prevention, hazard communication, fire safety, and activity-specific hazards for phases of work.
