Q: In all how many contractor 40 cubic bins are needed and how many Gov. owned is within the contract?

A: One 40 cubic yard dumpster is needed.

Q: I am writing to Inquire about the type of trash that would be put in the 40-yard dumpster, in order to have a clearer understanding of your needs.

(what type of material will be needed to be disposed of?)

(What type of waste will be disposed of in the containers?)

(Please verify the type of waste)

A: Organic waste example tree branches, leaves, sod. Inorganic waste example trash from cemetery trash receptacles.

Q: In the event of an emergency, what type of services will be needed within that 2-hour range? Will it be a replacement request? Also, does that include weekends (specifical Sundays)?

A: It would be a replacement request. It does not include weekends.

Q: Any of the waste required to be recycled?

A: No

Q:Is there an incumbent? If so, what is the contract number or values?
(We saw the current provider is Waste Management. What is the previous contract number?)

A: Services are currently provided by Waste Management on an as-needed basis. There is not a contract in place.

Q: What requirements are needed to access the site for the on-site visit?

A: Please contact Mr. Isaiah Stultz at Los Angeles National Cemetery to arrange a site visit.

Q: The statement of work says: Rental containers shall be steam cleaned once a month. Cleaning shall not be performed on Government (VA) property; and must be performed prior to returning the container to the VA after disposal. Could you explain in more detail what that means? Does it mean the government is willing to allow the trash bin to be removed after pickup for a time period to be steam cleaned and returned? What is considered a rental trash bin?

A:When the container is picked up for monthly service, it must be replaced with a container that is in “steam cleaned” condition. The contractor may replace the container with a different one or steam clean the same container and return it. The steam cleaning shall not be performed on VA property.
Q:What is the anticipated start date? What about the end date for services?
A:The anticipated period of performance is 11/01/2023 – 10/31/2024 base year with four (4) one-year option periods. The estimated ultimate completion date is 10/31/2028.
